Dettol is a British brand of antiseptic cleaning products made by the brand RB (formerly Reckitt Benckiser). No matter how clogged your drain is, this can be poured into the stagnant water, directly into the clogged hole. On the West Coast, the common commercial brand is Red Devil. Do not use lye, or any acids, Peroxide will work, but bleach is cheap, works great, use full strength or dilute. In most cases, however, more treatment is needed quickly.
